Been a while, got a job -- short-term contract, was supposed to be 1-2 months, has been 3, has been extended to 5, will probably go another several months after that.

Started on the South Beach Diet after the kids went back to school. I've never "dieted" before, but this seems like a good idea. My wife is on it, and I really started to support her. However, I'm eating more vegetables (hey, I LIKE vegetables!), and not drinking any cokes (for those in the north, that's pronounced "pop" or "soda") for a while. A good thing.

Here's a weight update:
Day 1: ?? (Bought a scale on day 1, so didn't weigh myself that morning)
Day 2: 139
Day 3: 138
Day 4: 139

I'm not looking for massive weight loss. I'm 5'4", my optimal weight is between 114 and 145 lbs, so I'm at the high end of "optimal." I'd like to be down 5-10 lbs, but not sure if I'm going to get any lower than that. What I REALLY want to lose is some "belly fat." I don't have much of a beer belly ("coke belly"??), but there is definitely a concentration there.

Oh yea, I forgot to rant. I guess with so little sugar running through my veins, it is hard to get worked up over things.

HOWEVER

What is with these people driving during rush hour? I had a lady in front of me this morning that insisted on putting on makeup, drinking her coffee, and smoking a cigarette. She ALWAYS left about 2 car lengths in front of her -- I guess so she didn't crash into the car in front of her -- so we had quite a few people from the next lane jump in front of her. ARRGGHH!!

Maybe a painball gun ... yeah ... :-)

TTFN!
